Overview
Associated Currency Exchanges provide convenient walk-in vehicle services for Illinois drivers. We handle personal as well as dealer-related transactions. Whether you’ve just bought a car or need to replace a lost title, our team is here to help.
In many cases, we can issue metal plates on the spot if all your documents are in order. If not, we’ll issue a Temporary Registration Permit (TRP) so you can legally drive while waiting for your plates or title in the mail.
Most titles and license plates arrive within 6–8 weeks.

How It Works
We make vehicle services hassle-free:
- Bring your vehicle title, valid photo ID, and proof of address.
- If the vehicle was purchased from a dealer, be sure to bring the bill of sale.
- We process your paperwork and issue plates or a TRP.
- Your new title and/or plates will be mailed to you in 6–8 weeks (unless issued on-site).
- Need a duplicate title? No problem. Just stop in and request one. It will arrive by mail in 6–8 weeks.
For expired plates (over one year past due in Illinois), we’ll help you order a new set and provide a Temporary Registration Permit (TRP) while you wait.
